Chief Sedinger, a Vietnam combat veteran, began his career with the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office in 1993 as a Reserve Deputy. He paid his way through the law enforcement academy and was hired as a full time Deputy Sheriff in 1995. Chief Sedinger was assigned to the investigations division in 1997 and in 2009 was appointed to his current position. Chief Deputy is the highest ranking non elected position in the Sheriff’s Office. The Chief Deputy answers directly to the Sheriff, is responsible for the day to day operations of the Sheriff’s Office and fulfills the duties of the Sheriff in his absence.
